There are dozens of beautiful, little tourist villages on the coast along the Omis Riviera. All of these places are filled with beautiful, pebble beaches suitable for the small children. But if you search, you can still find small, hidden beaches that can be only yours!

Nemira

This little tourist village is located only 2 km SE from Omis. There you can find long pebble beaches, couple beach bars, grocery and excellent restaurants. Nemira is connected with Omis by the sea promenade.

Stanici

Stanici are situated 4 km SE of Omis. Village is know for its long, beautiful pebble beaches. There are couple beach bars, restaurants, grocery and market in the settlement. You can also rent jet skies on the beach.

Ruskamen

Ruskamen is charming tourist settlement located 6 km SE of Omis. Village is know for excellent accommodation near the beach. There are couple of beach bars, restaurants, supermarket, tennis court and more in the village. Ruskamen is also know as one of the oldest nudist beaches in the Croatia, and it is excellent diving spot for the advanced divers. At the deep of 30 m lies down the antics amphoraes.

Lokva Rogoznica

Lokva Rogoznica is one of the oldest settlement on the Omis Riviera. Village is known for the long pebble beaches with the excellent beach and night bars. There are also grocery, market and postal office in the settlement.

 Medici

This beautiful tourist village is known for the dozens of beautiful, natural pebble beaches. All of the beaches are suitable for children. Beaches are different, some are large with beach bars, and some are hidden and intimate. Medici are also know for the shipwreck in the shallow sea, very close to the shore. This diving spot is even suitable for kids.

Mimice

Mimice is old fisherman and tourist settlement, situated 12 km SE from Omis. Village is know for beautiful sea promenade and long pebble beaches. There are couple beach bars, several quality restaurants and taverns, postal office and supermarket.

Marusici

Marusici is beautiful, small tourist settlement located 14 SE of Omis. Village is filled with beautiful and hidden pebble beaches. In the village you can find several coffee bars and restaurants.

Pisak

Pisak is the largest settlement on the Omis Riviera. This fisherman and tourist settlement is also a small port. Pisak is know for beautiful sea promenade and charming, pebble beaches. There are couple coffee bars and restaurants on the promenade, and there is a market in the village.

Omis Pirates

The notorious Omis Pirates

Rise of the power of Omis start with the noble family Kacic, who probably arrives from city of Zadar in the 11th century. In a very short time family gains local islands Brac and Hvar, and Omis becomes one of the strongest city in the middle Dalmatia. At one period of time Omiš had territory all over from city of Sibenik  to city of Dubrovnik. Omis rulers admitted the Hungarian-Croatian kings, and because of that they had some sort of autonomy, and kings never complained about theirs pirate campaigns. 

Omis Pirates were very skilled shipbuilders. They had fast ships called "Sagitta", which means the Arrow. Ships were excellent for the the fast attack ad more quicker retreats to the canyon of the river Cetina, from where they guarded the city.

At the peak of their power, in the 12th and 13th century, Omis Pirates controlled almost the whole Adriatic sea traffic. And even powerful Venetians and Dubrovnik pays tribute for free passage. But Venetians didn't like that, so the conspired for the centuries with the Adriatic sea city kings (Naples, Šibenik, Split...) and with even their enemies the Turks to help them to conquer the Omis. And finally, Omis falls in the 15th century, but resistance lasted for 20 or so years, and the proud Omisians never admitted the foreign rulers.

In the honor to the Omis Pirates, and their famous battle with the Venetians (which they won), every year in Omis is held manifestation The Pirate Battle, where lots of folklore groups from the whole Croatia, and real pirate ships participate.
